r&b....?

last night i was asked to play some r&b. which 9 times out of 10 i am, i was playing crazy in love by beyonce at the time ! can i ask what tunes you play when asked this question as i always thought r&b was flo rida ,rihanna, 50 cent etc etc, i was told by this person that these songs are not r&b . apparently michael jackson is! i,m confused help!!!!

Are we talking 'Off The Wall' type stuff? Or 'Dangerous' (which is closest to 'modern R&B')?

Sorry about the late reply, but i've just signed up and I having a browse through the forum.

With regards to RnB, I would suggest Drake/J Cole/Ne-Yo etc but if they wanted classic R'n'B from the late 90's/early 00's then you've got the likes of Donnel Jones/Montel Jordan/112/Jagged Edge/Ja Rule/Joe
