Fuse sizing?

I would just like to know if anyone can tell me whether 10A is ok to use on a power amplifier ir whether it must be a 13A fuse? Can i use a 10A fused lead? Or would my amp blow this 10A fuse?

When all else fails read the instructions. (http://www.behringer.com/assets/EP4000_P0A37_M_EN.pdf) On page 12 there's a reference to an 8 amp breaker. This seems to refer to item 13 on page 6. Logically, if this trips at 8 amps, then a 10 amp fuse in the IEC cable feeding it should be fine.

If it's blowing fuses regularly, or the breaker trips repeatedly, then it needs looking at by someone qualified. Simply shoving in the next size fuse isn't really the answer.

I wold use a 10amp anti surge fuse.
If the power supply is linear then you can get huge surges on power up and this can pop even the right size fuse for normal use.

Sadly transistors pop much faster than fuses so the fuse just often prevents the equipment setting on fire.

I have been lucky once when I tripped over a speaker lead and that blew the fuse before the amp but it cant be relied on in all cases.

If an output transistor goes faulty then there is a lot of power left in the smoothing capacitors which can destroy even very powerful transistors.
I have even blown 65amp transistors protected by a 5 amp fuse.
