Connecting my mixer to powered and amp powered speakers???

Hi Guys,

I am really hoping someone can help here. Its probably simple but my poor old brain is not working right.

I have just started a residency at a pretty big event venue (600/800 people), now it has its own sound system all behringer speakers, EQ and amps. For disco events, I use my own alto TS115A powered speakers running off Behringer Xenyx X1204USB Mixer and want to be able to run the mix to both my powered speakers and to through their in-house system as the speakers run high up and sound pretty good, where I set up and where the in-house set is about 5 metres away from each other. How would the best way to do this, the ideas i have at the moment.

1.. Buy a xlr splitter and run two feeds out of the master, one into the powered speakers and one into the EQ-amp.
2.. Use the xlr output from the alto powered speakers and run that into the EQ-amp

How does the alt 3-4 outputs work on the Behringer Xenyx X1204USB Mixer, can I run a separate feed to the EQ-amp. If I could this would be better the mixer has a separate sliders.

I am sorry if I am coming across thick or already answering my questions myself. I just could do with finding out the best way to do this.

Options 1) and 2) will both work, although they won't let you have separate control of the volumes. Alt 3-4 won't, as far as I know. I think we've had this one before, either here, or in another place. It may be possible to use the control room outs, but that will be too complicated for me to try to work out without having the thing under my hands.

Sadly, your mixer isn't ideal for this, as it's tricky to get two separate feeds with control of each on faders. With my 1832, it's a doddle, as I think the third number on these mixers relates to how many outputs can be easily used.

If your desk has Aux Sends, then you can use those to send the signal to either your powered speakers, or the install amps.

Make sure you send the signal Post Fade, then it will be controlled by your faders.


Other than that, check the manual, and have a play with your setup.
