well hi all, just decided to have another bash at the mobile circuit... im of the un younger end of the age group but still love some funky house and dance music.
bit of a long history with mobile work..
first time found a woman that needed my time lol, second time time just ran out of time, newly married, family started to take up a lot of my time also so called agent ripped me off to the tune of 1k never did get it.. third time some nice individual relieved me of 5k worth of equipment, so were going to try for 4th time lucky.
based in Hampshire but not looking for world domination yet.. in the wonderful stage of looking at equipment and working out why everything looks just a bit plastic nowadays, last set up was rather large though 4 martin 812's loads of pins par 56's and records had a pair of fane longthrows and few years later met someone who was accredited with designing them.. wow seems so long ago records, so with the age of modern technology we are looking at making it work for us. pcdex2 as a base and see where we end up. did find a couple of old amps when I moved so that's something I suppose.
love technology and I know that will cost me in the long run, build pc's in my spare time so already have a huge spend lined up for 2 pc based systems (backup system is always a good idea) 4tb storage in raid just in case. 2x 40inch + screens plus 2 x 23 inch ips panels to look at and looking at 1 for lighting dmx control as well .. I can see karaoke as a possibility in the future.
don't suppose anyone has any recommendations for starter gear, im not looking at the cheaper end of the market but obviously a function one dance stack is a bit out of the price range.
just seems to be a lot of cheap looking stuff with expensive price tags at the minute , even worse is the second hand market where it looks like people have failed but want 95% of their outlay back.
I have an idea of what I want but am failing in finding some of the old pulsar and njd stuff I am used to. I knew it was a bad idea to sell all the other stuff and move when I got divorced.
just to warn everyone I have a keyboard that is a bit too small for normal use but great for gaming so if you do happen to sopt any spelling errors its the keyboards fault, honest..
