As a last resort, I'm posting this in the hope that someone local may be able to help me/a client of mine out for this coming Saturday night.
I'm doing a ruby wedding anniversary for a lovely family that I've worked for several times in the past. The daughter of the couple always books me for family parties since I did a good job at her wedding. It's her parent's party this time around.
Bit of background first. Last year, I did her mother and father in law's ruby wedding and it was a really good night. It was in a smallish local cricket club venue. One of the highlights of the night was a guest had made a video slideshow of the couple's life together. The club had a lovely white wall which the slideshow was projected on to with the audio going through my PA. It worked a treat. That's the history behind this.
Now, for her own parent's party, she wants to do the same thing again. The same guest has done a slideshow for her own parents but he can't be there on Saturday so he loaned her his laptop and projector. The problem is he doesn't have a screen and the walls in this venue are not suitable to be projected on to. The club do have a pull-down screen but it's at the far end of the room. My audio cables won't reach the distance as they'd need to go around the room and I don't have any audio transmitting kit. So, I was wondering if anyone local has an old, spare projector screen lying around that they could loan (or hire) me (but bearing in mind this isn't my biggest ever paying gig!!). It'd be for one night only and it would help a lovely lass and her parents have a great night. She is even suggesting she'll get a white sheet to pin to the wall if she has to but I'm not sure the venue would allow that!!
I know it's a long shot but I'm an optimist!
Thanks! :)
EDIT:
Failing this, does anyone know if a plain white sheet would be effective? I've got plenty of stands that I could attach a sheet to if that is an option!
