LED Par cans. Do you use frosted diffusion filters?

I recently purchased some Stairville Par56 10mm LED Cans. These are very bright when I look directly into them. I then got some fully frosted and half frosted clear filters to slip over the front. I'm not sure whether to use them or not, as although the light output is smoother, they seem to block a lot of the intensity. Whats the general feeling, do you used these for mobile DJ'ing or not?

I've never used them myself, but I've seen them (and also traditional coloured filters) used over LED pars at a comedy club to reduce the fringing you get in the shadows when you're using LED pars with multiple 10mm LED's in them.

Seemed to work for them...
