I've just watched Saturday's TOTP2 which had Haysi Fantazee - "John Wayne is big leggy" on it. This got me thinking as to how it would go down a a gig with a certain agegroup. This then got me thinking about other 1 - 2 hit wondes from the 80's that were fun/good but don't get much airplay & so have dropped out of the nation's collective memory & how well they would go down at a gig. The following sprang to mind

Haysi Fantazee - John Wayne is big leggy
Matt Bianco - Get out of your lazy bed
the Associates - Club country
Swansway - Soul train
Human League - (Keep feeling) Fascination / Sound of the crowd (would make a change from Don't you want me & OK I know they're not 1 hit wonders)
the Primatives - Crash
Dead Or Alive - Lover come back to me (would make a change from You spin me round)
Big Audio Dynamite - E=MC2
Doctor & the Medics - Burn
The Mighy Wah! - The story of the blues
Divine - You think you're a man
The Piranahs - Zambezi
Aztec Camera - Oblivious
the Lotus Eaters - The first picture of you
the Icicle Works - Love is a wonderful colour (which was also on TOTP2)

Anybody use any of these & how do they go down?

Missed this one...

Pubs, yeah great. Other functions, maybe at the beginning of the evening.

Wap bam boogie is a better dance tune that the one you mentioned.

Most of the other tunes are brill, apart from burn and lover come back to me. (possibly Divine....)

Icicle Works is one of my favourite forgotton and unplayed tunes of the 80s, as is the Kane Gang - closest thing to heaven and Fiction Factory - feels like heaven.

Maybe another thread Steve? Forgotten 80s tunes?

(possibly Divine....)Strange thing is, 2 of the 3 you mention there (Lover Come Back To Me & Divine - You Think You're A Man) are probably the most likely choices from that list to get me (and many of my friends) on the dancefloor (Those & Club Country)
