My smoke machine with wireless remote has turned temperamental. Is it possible to bridge two pins on the receiver's IEC to check whether it works?

Whoa!! IEC sockets carry mains voltages, so I hope you mean DIN or XLR, or whatever the remote connector is. I'd guess that the machine triggers with a low voltage relay, while the mains input is constant. These things don't heat instantly, they take a while to heat, so need the heater powering full time, while the fluid is only injected as needed.

I have no idea about the remote, I'm just urging caution with mains voltages. Extreme caution.

Thanks, I wondered if that might be the case...hence asking on here first. I'll speak to Prolight and see what they say.
