Has anyone ever used this service before to get their business cards?
A friend of mine pointed me in their direction. The cards he has are a very nice quality, so I figured I give them a go. Apparently they are used very regularly by photographers, so the images (if you decide to use them) must come out really nicely.
I've decided to go for three different designs: One for weddings, one for Corporate Events and the last one for all the others.

Also gone and bought some flashy business card holder (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OAZ-csP5Mw). I should imagine it would look better than getting my wallet out every time somebody asks for a card. :p
So yeah, when they arrive I'll let you know how they turn out but if others have used them before, what did you think?

That awkward moment when you realise - after ordering a load of business cards - that none of them contain the word 'DJ'.

Many of our members have consciously gone for the title Entertainment, rather than DJ.
Personally, I'd be more worried about the inclusion of the acronym B.S.

That was the point.
Back when I was a young rapskallian, it was done to take the Michael Bliss. Now I'm all grown up, I'm stuck with it.

Thats the first thing that came into my head when I saw BS entertainments?
Nice design and a great photo though. :)
The middle one is good. People buy people, but they also buy the vision so depends on what you want?? I would choose the first one but thats just me. A few years ago it would have been the other two.

Heaven forfend, dear boy, heaven forfend! Throw off the shackles of a title associated with bluster, prevarication and ignorance. Rename your business, and enjoy the fruits of a name associated with quality and reassurance.
Especially since if the first two letters weren't bad enough, adding the third one only compounds the agony: B.S.E.
Disclaimer: There was a slight element of humour in there, I was not deadly serious. :D I would seriously look at rebranding the enterprise though. Seriously.

Yes not a better move, but at least its memorable.
Bogfrog was the best business name - even the bank clerk says "hello mr bog frog" when go in twice a year to paying cheques.
Everyone queries it or comments as its still used as my trading name on the card/account.
Its amazing what subconsciously people have remembered it. Mostly "bog off"

I won't be changing the name. I'm happy with it, it's a conversation point with clients and whilst there are obviously a lot of people here who don't like it, I'm still busy so it can't be that bad.

Relax Benny.....no-one's said they don't like it.....we're just having a bit of fun :)
If it's memorable and it helps customers to remember who you are, it can't be a bad thing :)
Use it henceforth to market yourself and make yourself unique...heaven forfend we should take ourselves too seriously (at least I don't!)

Yep :agree: its your business what you do, just our lighthearted opinion.
i always ask lots of female friends/family when I have something new and see what they say rather than other DJ's. Having said that there are people on here who have spent decades marketing their business and have learnt the hard way, but if your busy then thats all you need. The design is great (I used to run a design and print business btw). :)

Fair enough. Can't fault it.
and whilst there are obviously a lot of people here who don't like it,
Sir, you misunderstand. Like has nothing to do with it. We're looking at it from the viewpoint of it possibly causing a bad impression with prospective customers. Sometimes, not everyone sees the humour in something.
I'm still busy so it can't be that bad.
And there we have it. You can't argue with success. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. :grouphug:

Can be a big problem. Has happened to me before. The smilies can often help. Generally on here folk are friendly and helpful.

Well, they've just arrived. Was scheduled to be delivered tomorrow, so it's early. Had an email yesterday from them yesterday letting me know that they had been dispatched.

Cards are quite thick (maybe twice as thick as my old ones), glossy and of an excellent quality. Pictures are very clear, the writing is crisp and clean and the logo looks very nice. The holder is pretty funky too.
Very happy with them. I would recommend the service. :)

And if you're interested, 150 cards, plus the holder was just shy of £60 (inc. VAT).

You can get 500 matt lam with spot UV (selected shiny parts) for that. :)
I am a bit out of touch but Saxo print are apparently cheap.
Solopress are good however and I have always used Indigo Press as i have a trade account.

It is (very) expensive, but I think I may stand up for Moo and say that they may be worth it.
I'll spend the next few weeks keeping an eye on people's reactions. 99% of the time, when I hand out a business card, I don't get a reaction other than 'Thank you!"
If this changes and people comment on them in a positive way, I think that in itself makes it worth it. 150 cards should last me a couple of months. Time will tell... :)

Yep if you look at a card a lead then they are invaluable as you don't know well, where it will lead.
I found that the A5 matt lam / spot UV flyers and metal foil (shiny metal logo) on my brochures always gets a "wow" you mean business. :)
