I honestly don't know yet. I'm working the Saturday night, but if enough of the old faces are meeting up on the Sunday night I might make the trip down.

And they don't come much older than this one! :D I too am working Saturday, and I'm driving down Sunday morning. BPM ticket bought, Sheldon Travelodge booked, cos the breakfast there is great.

Not sure I'll bother this time around.......been there for the last three years but it was far too noisy last year, stand holders competing against each other to be heard/seen. PLASA in London was so much more civilised, and now with more interest for the mobile DJ.

On the fence....but that's nothing new don't usually decide till much nearer the time, still mindful of last years little debacle.

I missed last year...what happened?

To be fair I'd only go to see everyone on the night out rather than go to the show itself...

Saturday 13. Sunday 14 and Monday 15 September.

I'm going on the Monday as usual. Too busy that weekend and a day off from work is most welcome.

I wore trainers...

Andy and all the boys from the North stayed with me and we went elsewhere. Lots of others made a lot of noise saying we'd all stay together and then stayed in Reflex....cheers then. :muppet:

Unfortunately in Darren's mind I am one of the bad guys.!!! but hey that's now history

Anyway I am unable to attend the legendary dj night out due to a wedding booking I have on the Sunday.

Typical as of yet I have nothing in my diary for the Friday or Saturday

Alan will be there himself representing soundmaster disco this year

Ah yes. A scandal indeed.
Since I now follow the maxim " If it's too loud, you're too old ", Walkabout is off my list of possibilities, and Reflex is off due to their shameful treatment of our illustrious leader.
I wonder if it might be prudent to find a hostelry selling real ale, without a deafening accompaniment, so that we could have an intelligent and polite conversation without screaming at each other, or using semaphore.

Ooh no mate, come on Sunday, and say hello to the Reprobates. :D

Sounds like a plan to me.

That pub next door to Reflex had some decent beers. Shame it shut so early.

It certainly is great value for money.

So is there any other viable choice for a venue for the meetup. Somewhere that has music and is open later than midnight?

 Good man. You know it makes sense.

For anyone who hasn't been before, I can heartily recommend going, if only to put faces to names. Even if you don't stay for the evening's shenanigans, it's well worth it.

I now won't be going to BPM as i'm flying out to America on the 2nd September to visit my parents for 16 days.

I have already purchased a BPM ticket and as I was one of the first 50, 100 or whatever it was, it's comes with a freebie!

Whoever wants it can have it free of charge... first come first served - it's a eTicket so will have to be emailed over to you.

OK, so the great day moves ever closer. May I urge all who haven't decided to splash out the price of a ticket, and make the effort to attend. The show is a mere adjunct to meeting the great and the good ( and the bad and the ugly :D ) from here ( and I believe other forums are available )

Book in at the Sheldon if it's still got space, and you can join in our little trip into town for a couple of small sherries. What an enticing prospect. As the young lady says:

So, what did everyone think this year?

I went on the Sunday and I felt...underwhelmed. I didn't see anything that overly excited me. I dunno...feels like we were waiting for something...

Corabar Steve
16-09-2014, 09:44 AM
I enjoyed it, although I didn't see anything new that excited me.

I did like the dinky little par-bars that Terralec had http://www.terralec.co.uk/led_par_cans_spots__floods/multiform_versoclub_ht3012_mini_par_bar/33474_p.html

Also suitably impressed with the Maui 44 http://www.ld-systems.com/en/series/maui-series/maui-44-column-pa-system-active/

Qute liked the sound on the Stageline C-RAY/8 http://www.imgstageline.com/ (Although not too impressed with it's SPL)

Bigger than previous years, although I didn't really see the point in the 2 part colour coded split (especially as 2 of the most used Mobile DJ lighting brands had their stands in Pro rather than BPM).

Also why were the bars closed? One overly expensive bar in the Pro hall where an exhibitor could've been was not enough.

As I stock some of the LED furniture range that Premier Events sell then it was good to see some of their other stuff in the flesh and consider future purchases that way.

The way it is now with forums and most retailers having decent social media presence then it's going to be far less likely to show you something new but worth it for me to catch up with a few folks.

I did get to meet the legendary Roger Squire at the Mastermix Network Zone. DJs from the 70's and 80's will know of the man.
