Google Adwords good or not?

Hi Guys,

Been looking into google adwords? Does anyone use them/ find it generates them a lot of new business at all?

I've never personally used them but starting to think about the idea.

Used them before but found I was getting queries from too far away - probably something I was doing wrong though!
If I remember correctly used about £75 worth although most of this was free credit and didn't get a booking from it :(

Did you use it for national terms such as "wedding dj" or local ones? Weighing up the options of how good it would be and worth the spend or not.

Used it in a way to get local work

Tried it once and didn't get much out of it.
My wife did the same for her business and likewise.

Definitely doing something wrong. You can specify areas to display ads or, IIRC, you can do it a as radius in miles from a specific point.
