Hi folks
I am completely dumb when it comes to properly controlling lighting with dmx. Yes I no how to set master slave and cable but after that I'm lost.
I was wondering if would be possible to have the following setup - Chauvet corebar 4 with dmx lead out to par56. This would then daisy chain to a further 6 par56's and then back into a Chauvet corebar 4. The controller I was looking to use was the foot controller you get with the corebar 4. I was wanting the par56 lights to copy what the corebar 4's do.
The big question is, is this possible?
Any help would be really appreciated guys.
Thanks
Iain

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't, you'd probably need to use a more generic DMX controller for that.
Chauvet don't appear to make a single COB par either (which may have been controllable with the same unit).
What functions in particular did you want the pars to copy?

Ultimately I'm looking to sync all the lights. Same colour, reaction to sound input etc.
Currently I use 2 corebars and have them dmx'd so there doing the same job. Now with buying a third I want to use this behind the equinox screen. I could have all three corebars working together with ease. When I use the scrims for the speaker stands with the par 56's I would like these to working with the corebars - same colour and sound to light activity.
I currentLy use a Chauvet obey3 for the par56 and the foot control for the corebars.
Having them all synced will help with colour matching and also reduce setup time.
Cheers

Now I like a corebar (just got myself the ADJ Dotz one and had others parbars in the past) but I find one plenty enough for most venues - two possibly for a very large venue, but three plus par cans! I can imagine that being too much light, I like my parties to be a bit less well lit.
But as you say, getting the bars to work together from the footswitch will be easy, I don't think you will get the cans doing the same unless you use a separate DMX controller for everything and programme it all in yourself. I'd be tempted to keep the cans behind the scrims a single colour, the changing light from the corebars will mix with it anyway and look like it's all synchronised. And with 3 corebars you could afford to turn two of the lights on the bars to shine directly onto the scrims.
