Phono Cable Suggestions...

Having used midi controllers for a number of years now I've not had any need or use for twin phono cables however I now need to buy some. This will be used with a pioneer setup so looking for some good quality ones that have been personally recommended by some of the members on here......

You must mean RCA :) Phonos are for home audio fanatics.

Vandamme & Netrix all the way! I bought a blue one recently (Jack to RCA) with srinktube and some form of really flexible chord type end (don't know how to describe it) 2m long and about £30. Worth every penny!!! :) So much difference in the way they fit onto the RCA things. Just really great compared to the chinese ones.

I've been using Adam Hall cables for quite some time and they've never let me down. They're a lot cheaper than Toby's recommendations but do the job I want them to do. If I wanted the very best then I'd have them custom-made using OFC (oxygen-free copper) wiring. I had some mic cables made up with XLR connectors a good few years ago and the sound/signal quality was outstanding.

i bought loads of live wire and similar cables with 10 year guarantees (and about 1/2 the Vandamme cable cost) and they have all broken within a year. I ended up going back to the £3 crap Maplin cables and that lasted years, but wanted something better. Hand made and decent soldering etc. is key. I love Adam Hall products since buying my first LD Dave so I am sure the cables are excellent too :)

Probably the same difference between buying a Gallardo & an R8 - they are in essence the same car.

You can get Hi-Fi grade interconnects at a sensible price from THESE PEOPLE (http://www.richersounds.com/products/hi-fi-separates/accessories/hifi-interconnects#6) I've used them many times myself.

Hmm, I've never felt the need to buy expensive RCA cables, I've got a pair which came with my traktor controller which look similar to £2-3 cables which have lasted me say 4 years of regular gigs...

Depends on your whole system but it's only going to be as good as it's weakest point..... Just ordered the Van Damme cables anyways.

I like Vandamme, you just know it will be excellent to use let online the best for sound quality (not that I have ever noticed any difference with my RCF's compared to the 99p shop ones.) I remember when I did a student party in a bar and I handed the sound engineer my Neutrics/vandamme outputs and he could not believe it. He said I was the only performer in his career who had decent cables LOL. I was hiding my crappy ones though from the decks to the mixer after that.

Finally got some photos. I will definitely stick to these cables, they are very good. i just love opening my case now to plug them in, can describe it but its very satisfying. The flex thing that I could not name is very useful in tight corners and the main cable is solid as, without being very bulky.
