Right chaps, sorry if this is a regular question...

Can anyone recommend any fun games for a school disco with about 150 11-12 year olds? I'm assuming the classics such as musical chairs, statues etc is a bit too young for them.

Any help would be grand :)

They'll do statues, your main issue is there are so many of them, games where one or two are out each round will take most of the disco. You are better off with party dances than games at school discos.

Took me ages to find this thread:

then realised they might be a bit too young for your age range!

Buy yourself a limbo dancing kit (one of the sturdy garden games ones) and that'll fill about 15 mins whilst they go round and round....always works for me.

Musical clumps is another good one where you can eliminate a lot of kids at the same time.

A bit like statues.

Play music and get them to dance around. When the music stops, you call out a number. They have to get themselves into groups of that number and anyone not in a group of the correct size is out.

I normally do it so that the last half dozen left in are the winners rather than taking it down to two (you can't go to an absolute winner if you work it out).

Panto time: " Oh yes you can" ;) Run it down to three people. Call two, and add the rider that one of the pair is the DJ, Teacher, or whoever. Eventually the penny will drop, and one person will win. Simples.

I do this one quite often I call it "the numbers game" ... I think it's a great game but I always seem to get parents joining in to make up the right amount of numbers so their kid doesn't lose, makes things a little awkward.
