Hi Guys,

Blimey this posting lark is becoming a habit :p

Signal chain assistance required



Can the collective check this is right before I rack and link it all up….Passive/Active set up

4x 802’s ( I know there old hat, but I still love em ! :daft:) No lows must be Bose lol), and an Active RCF 705,

Bose are by 2x PPX900, there goes my back again (old school, I'm an old git) bridged as 802's need a decent headroom to run at their best...waits for comments ;)

So………..

Highs

Djm2000  Driverrack PA+  802 Controller Amps 802’s

Sub

Djm2000  Driverrack PA+  Mono out to active RCF 705AS

I don't know whether the driverack provides only mono sub out, only stereo, or both. No matter, because the RCF sub will run happily on either one ( mono ) input, or two ( stereo ), so that's all bases covered.

Also, I don't know if the driverack provides other benefits besides a crossover, but I'm assuming that the lone sub will be near the deckstand. If so, you could utilise the crossover in the sub, and lose the driverack. Six and two threes regarding cabling I reckon, no huge saving.

The PPX900 is a great amp, but on a power to weight ratio, it leaves a lot to be desired. That's one reason why they're so popular as install kit. ;)

Seriously, if I were doing what you're doing, I'd get one or two of the Peavey lightweight amps. The weight saving would be immense, and as much power as you wish, since they've finally expanded the range. ( Long overdue ).

To answer your original question, I see no glaring errors in your cunning plan. ( Other than the lack of a forklift to move the amps ) :D:D

It all seems fine. Just make sure you take the RCF upto the high pass point of the 802s. The Driverack is a pretty decent piece of kit. Best to sum the bass.
