Well according to Autoroute, the two places are around a hundred miles apart, and I've got two bookings of at least that distance booked in already this year.

It entirely depends on whether you can make it worth your while. 100 miles both ways is probably 3 to four hours of driving. It'll be a long day for you.

Personally, I would rather use that time to spend with friends and family and, say, go to lunch with them before going to a gig that's considerably closer. However, there are those who will happily do long journey on a regular basis. The important thing is to account for the extra time you'll be putting into this booking and extra costs, and make sure you still come away with a tidy profit. :)

I am also based in Birmingham and I often provide different services In Sheffield, Derby, Chesterfield, Leicester, Cheltenham, Oxford, Gloucester but I do prefer to do more local. I do add a lot more on to my fee to make it worth while but in the winter months I always try and stop local.

Regularly have a 150 mile round trip. Distance to me is no object - just price accordingly.

40 miles , unless its the channel islands, thats my limit, if fact most of my work is within 25 miles.

Not a disco, but a photo booth and I drove to Halifax....twas a long day, 17 hours in fact, but financially agreeable.

Again not a disco, it was equipment dry hire, the clients both lived in Singapore (6000+miles) and booked from there, fortunately the venue was only 15 miles up the road. The bride was born there and wanted to be married in the village church with her family in attendance. Wonderful thing the internet.

1 hour max for me. 90% of my gigs are in venues 20 mins from my house or less though. :)
