Alibaba - Experiences?

I've been exploring the realms of Alibaba for a little while now for various products wanting to give it a go and very shortly I will need to purchase a new set of uplighters.
Buying ADJ Tripar lights will cost me £880 for 16 and I'd much prefer a figure around £500 :) I've enquired with a couple of sellers as to the price but it'll take them a couple of days no doubt to get back to me, meanwhile has anybody ever dealt with alibaba suppliers? And would anybody recommend the idea of getting products direct from manufacturer?

Yes done it lots. No real problems, but expect a couple of the lights to be a bit dodgy.
Thats what you get for paying 1/4of the retail price.

Also expect an import duty charge and look into the feedback of the supplier.
They are really helpful and most speak english.

i Have a set of 15 tiny little lights and they are 5 times the brightness of the ADJ ones.
And no I will not disclose the company as it has taken me quite some time to find a good one. :p

No problem, there seems to be a lack of information about the suppliers but I'd be the same if I found a decent supplier. Well how much would you be looking for those 10? May save me hunting down a company.

Yes for a few its not really worth it - you need to order over 20 or so to make it worthwhile.

Here is the specs. I only have 8 new and boxed and 3 used twice (as i needed some extra lighting on NYE). I got in on the wireless technology very early on and have had several types now and they are the best lights i have seen for the price - solid as!!
These are NOT battery lights. Much lighter than battery lights and very compact though. :)

They look like nice light didn't realise they were wireless, not too bothered about wireless dmx so probably could do with cheaper lights as they're over my budget!

OK. My wireless lights and wireless control has really revolutionised my show so for me it was worth its weight in gold, to have the whole room chugging colour at the touch of a button, without any pre wiring time etc. For the quality these are very cheap. an ADJ equivalent would cost over £150-200 at least. Massive output too so you won't need as many lights. :)

Which wireless controller do you use with these lights? Would the American DJ Wifly controller work with these?
