LED lightshows with crossfade programs without DMX controller?

As the thread title suggests I'm keen to know if there are any LED lights (e.g. KAM party powerbar etc) with builtin programs which can also do nice slow sequences that crossfade as opposed to abrupt colour/light changes without having to resort to a DMX controller. Do such things exist, or should I just forget about fretting & go DMX anyway from the start?

I've watched a few demo videos & all I've seen the powerbar type packages do is abrupt, vibrant fast moving shows. Where are the subtle programs?

I can see myself going to DMX eventually anyway because I'm a control freak.. Working with all on, all the time, doing their own thing lights is all very well but they don't always fit. If S2L programs in lights actually measured the music tempo it might be less of an issue but you know how it goes. Nobody wants their lights to go into strobe mode during a slow dance!

Not sure about the KAM party powerbar? The KAM Powerbar however has a slow fade sequence where it fades from colour to colour. Which is nice for slow dances etc. That said, I still prefer a static colour wash on the powerbar (e.g. pink) instead of the colour fade.

Thanks. I think I meant the KAM power partybar.

Yeah a static mode is pretty much essential too, come to think about it. Actually having seen the Powerbar demo video I think I'd go for that rather than the partybar.. I'd obviously have to see it in person first of course.

Aha looks like the Stairville Stage TRI LED bundle from Thomann can do xfades too..

I think maybe the power partybar might be one for me to avoid.

I'm sure Peter (Excalibur) has the Stairville, he'll be able to offer some advice. The price is fantastic on the Stairville too. :)

I have not used any DMX on a fade with my wireless pars and never noticed the difference.
They were not on sound to light either.

The foot switch is handy cos if you suddenly want to stop evenything or send it in to strobe then you have that control.

With effect lighting i would not be happy not having them DMX'd.

The Stairville's slow fade is brilliant, and I use it in the early part of many functions. It has to be selected from the bar itself, it isn't possible to do this from the foot pedal.
While the Stairville is tremendous value for money, and I love mine to bits, some of the newer offerings with extra sockets built in are worth a look. We saw one of the Equinox ones at a meeting, and were very very impressed. I don't remember which model it was.
