One of the boss' Mackies had a bit of an intermittent audio problem. Give it a light tap on the back & the audio would come back on & generally stay on...

I had it brought into work today for me to have a look at. The problem? Ah well. In their infinite wisdom, Mackie put a 2 pin 0.1" jumper in the audio signal path. This jumper was as slack as a wotsit's wotsit.. Not having a replacement, or any wire wrapping wire, I put a blob of solder across it.. problem solved :-)

As I was lifting the speaker onto the bench I spotted another problem.. I noticed a weight shifting around. That was down to the bolt holding the big toroidal PSU transformer in place being as loose as a.. loose thing.

Jumper J15.. audio goes through here.

Oh, and the cable from the XLR board to the main amplifier board.. PAPER backed ribbon cable?!?!?!?!?! Methinks somebody might've taken the 'Made in China' stickers off the back

The fix took all of about 20 minutes including testing
