Heh. No. Anyway the groom cancelled the first dance, said the manager later. "Just announce the cake cutting & get on with the party". So I did, and it turned out rather good, with 'Combine Harvester' as the very last song of the night.

Certainly sounds idyllic. I've almost had my fill of having to work against last minute information & vague afterthoughts but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now

I remember doing a wedding a few years ago and the first dance was a choreographed tango and the piece of music was the Masochism Tango by Tom Lehrer. Was an excellent opener.

I was drumming fir a band on Monday at a wedding and the first dance was Happy and was excellently choreographed.
