Hi guys my first post here so be gentle with me!!

Im considering purchasing a Starlit floor & back cloth for upmarket wedding bookings, its noticeably cheaper if purchased direct from the Chinese manufacturer. Has anybody experienced such a purchase direct from China & what are your thought?? Thanks all GRC

Hi guys my first post here so be gentle with me!!

Hello Gary. We're always gentle here, this place is all warm and cuddly.;)

Re the answer to your question, sorry I'm no help whatsoever, that's far beyond my ken. :o I do keep getting emails from a nice lady in Shentzen offering me lasers at ridiculous prices, but so far I've resisted the urge to get one. I do know that some folk on here have bought direct, so I hope they'll be along soon.

May I ask you to pop across to the Newbies forum and introduce yourself, we're a nosey lot, and we like to know a bit about who we're conversing with. Also, it can help us to give better advice.

I've risked some small purchases and all has been good - I got a laser.

Take a while to arrive but seem to avoid import taxes in my experience.

China are pushing hard to become the manufacturing superpower and building rep seems very important to them.

Thanks for the reply, im thinking most products are manufactured in China nowadays in any case. As you say you have risked small purchases which is a much safer bet. Ill wait & see what prices I can obtain for the Starlit Dance floor from China & decide from there. Thanks again

It's a lot of dosh to lay out on an unknown company but maybe worth a punt.

I've seen photos of how some UK made dancefloors are put together & wasn't especially impressed with the construction, so be careful about safety & approvals etc.

Dancefloors are really unreliable, you'll need the backup of the manufacturer definitely during it's life. Buy from a reputable firm.

I would give it a miss.
my mate had a white led dancefloor from china a few years ago and had loads of problems with and they refused to refund him the money back. They told him what might be wrong with it as the motherboard was touching the acrylic and this meant the motherboard was bending and cutting led dancefloor off.
I would buy a new Uk one ( mainly because aftersales service ) or a good uk second hand one

I know somebody buying an 18 square foot floor for about 8 grand new from the manufacturer. He'll easily get a return on that investment in less than a year even with competition cutting their own noses off

Sounds like it could be hassle....appreciate your comments thanks

The chinese firm do have a warranty but I bet its a nightmare & not cost effective if it goes wrong.

Do you know which firm he is buying from?
