rcf715 vs evox8

I have been using rcf 715 speakers on stands,I saw on the www rcf evox 8 should I change as its a hassle lifting them on and off stands,I'm also fearful of somebody tripping over leg of stand.No matter where you erect the stand there is always one who will do a dive live a footballer

You can't win - if you have a sub and stick, someone could fall and try and hang on to the array. You'll also find people will drive you nuts by leaving their drinks on the sub. The RCF's aren't heavy compared to a lot of boxes, but if getting the speakers onto raised stands is an issue, it might be worth considering gas lift stands (http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/article/3197-the-ultimate-helping-hand-with-your-pa-speakers.html) (cheaper brands are available).

Thank you for a quick reply.its not only the inconvience of humping the gear in and out of venues I'm wondering what the difference in the sound is like.
I don't use a bass bin
The shop I bought the 7 series will do a trade in.By swooping the 7 series for evox8,am I bringing the sound to another level ,going side ways , or God forbid taking a step back wards

In my humble opinion, it will all depend on the functions you do. Small weddings, intimate venues and speech based events, the Evox is the clear winner.

I'm going to give the standard answer which is a bit of a cop out. You need to go and listen to the Evox and see if you think it's a sideways move or a move up/down. Peter is right though, you'll be able to get more out of the 715's and have more options for the future than with the Evox (e.g. you can add subs to the 715's later to cater for more people). The Evox is what it is.

If you want that sounds sweeter than the 715's, but has the same grunt, then it's worth checking out the 745a's or even a second hand pair of 725's. Lots more money though.
