Hey guys, I was having a good look at my rig from a punters point of view during the gig I worked on Saturday (putting a 12" on gives a great opportunity to do that lol)
I currently have (lights)
Two wind-up Tripods I set either side of me with two iShow 4's on each. I usually use one from each side to illuminate the dance floor area and the other one form each side to illuminate opposite corners of the rear of the room (beams crossing over, despite what Ghostbusters said you should never do lol)
Main Truss over the booth - arranged like this left to right, in 'layers' (I hope this text formatting works)
ADJ Octobeam.......................................... .................................................. .......ADJ Octobeam
.......................Triclops................... .Equinox Six Shooter..............Triclops..................... .............
4 Lens Laser 760mW............................................. ......................................4 Lens Laser 760mW
.................................................. ..........Martin Ego............................................... .................
I also have a Acme Barrage mounted on the centre of my booth screen, a couple of Crystal Balls I place on my booth plinths to put a nice effect on the ceiling above me, and some moonflower lights and a water effect under the booth lighting up the front screen. The Martin Ego hangs from the bottom of the truss just in the center, and I use it to hit the center rear wall of the venue. Finally I have the Dotz TPAR which I tend to use as an uplighter behind me on most occasions as it is too bright to shine on the audience and/or it washes out my other light effects. Oh I have a few cluster lasers and a geometrix laser too.
All my lights are DMX apart from the Ego so they run in master/slave pairs - with the salve set to 'SL2' so it mirrors the master.
OK so that is what I have now. Having a good loook at the rig on Saturday I have decided to get another six shooter this week and rearrange like this
ADJ Octobeam.......................................... .................................................. .......ADJ Octobeam
.............Triclops....Equinox Six Shooter................................Equinox Six Shooter....Triclops.............
4 Lens Laser 760mW............................................. ......................................4 Lens Laser 760mW
.................................................. ..........Martin Ego............................................... .................
Now this leaves a nice big gap in the middle....... and what I would like to put in there is an impressive looking centrepiece!
How many of you run rigs where a centrepiece is appropriate (or you have space to fit one)?
If so what are you using as a centre piece? And given my above setup what would you suggest for me to consider as an upgrade?
I do have a couple of things in mind but won't mention them as of yet so as not to taint any suggestions.
Rich
PS there is also space on both the windup tripods for another light alonside the pair of iShows ;)
