Hi

Have a couple of Inno Spot LED moving heads.

Any suggestions on whether a padded Accu Case bag would be any good to transport them in, or would only a flightcase be safe.

With a combined weight of 13kg, I wouldn't want to carry them in a padded bag - and you then wouldn't be able to put anything on top of them.

I'm a big fan of padded bags for equipment, but I don't think it quite works for this.

I think padded bags will only ever afford its contents protection from scratches & minor bumps. For real protection you need a mechanical barrier.

Whether you really need to go full flightcase or not.. I think that's always one for debate. Full flightcases look fantastic & are pretty much bombproof but wow the extra weight!

Does anybody still do those fibre equipment cases that were once all the rage? A well foamed out poly plastic box would be a lot better than a mere padded bag, but can you still get em?

I am surprised there isn't a bigger market of lightweight cases.

I'd happily put more equipment in a lightweight solid case. Padded bags are lovely as you say for avoiding bumps and scratches in transit, but you can't stack them up, and they don't "protect" the item. However, as you say, flightcases are very heavy. I'm always very conscious that gigs don't always allow you to park right outside the door, with a ground floor location. You soon regret the flightcase when taking them upstairs!

But a lightweight solid case, that just provided protection without it having the full specs of "flight ready" would be ideal.

Lovely and lightweight - never felt particularly strong, but was more than enough for me to transport them around.

More of a case like this - especially with foam padding inside and without the 2nd opening and rack rails would be ideal

Nice choice - is that 1 case per light, or do both fit in it?

It's one per case, which I prefer otherwise it get's too heavy with the lights weighing 6kgs each.
