View Full Version : Lots of padded bags

So I'm using padded bags for my lights - they are just the right size, protect everything nicely, and are way lighter than flight cases for them!
But now that I've got 1 bag for cables, 1 for scanners, 1 for wash fx, 1 for Quad Phase and 1 for "bits", they're a pain to get in all in one go! They're light enough to carry in one go, but it's not possible to do, due to the length (or lack of) their handles.
I was considering one large thin but tall bag to put them in so they all stack on top of each other, but I can't find a suitable bag.
Does anyone else use padded bags? Any easy way to scoop them all up in one go?
And not in a flight case please!!!

What about a foldable trolley?
I'm already considering trolley options & I've not even gigged my own gear yet. I had a small very cheap trolley in the 1990s when I ran my first ever rig & it saved me loads of aggro even on short runs.

I do have 2 trolleys and they are amazing. The cart I can load all the bags on, but I can't use it when there is a step, so it doesn't come out very often.
I also have a small foldable trolley which can be pullled up a couple of stairs, but it's not so easy to stack things on, but that does work.
I guess I was asking this more for when I have to carry things in (especially when it's an upstairs gig)
If you're considering a trolley - consider no longer - buy one!

I wouldn't recommend using one soft bag for everything. I see that as a disaster just waiting to happen!

Just to clarify - one large bag to put all the padded bags in - not all the equipment in one bag! That would be disaster!

Would this (https://www.djkit.com/chauvet/chauvet-chs-goal-vip-gear-bag.html?gclid=CI3ouJTW8MUCFerjwgodB00AWQ) be big enough?
But I would echo the hand truck idea, personally.

Easily big enough - good call.
