time to spill the beans

I've been helping a mate of mine set up shop for a while now and its painful as he hates doing all the no DJ related side of the business.

So he asked my last night what my DJ name was and I replied in jest DJ Throbbing Love.

When I first started I used the name Reverend P but dropped it and just used DJ Andy P.

So do any of you have a DJ name, some will be obvious but share with me why you chose it - if not what was the thinking behind your business name

I've personally always found it very cheesy.

I have a name, and people can call me by my name!

Equity wouldn't let me have my real name... some comedian called Ken had it!!
So I just used my website name as my stage name.

Well, being the DJ King Of Cheese, I started off with a gimmick and that was mixing my fondness of wearing "cool" sunglasses with my DJing which made me DJ Spex for a while. Nowadays, everyone just refers to me as (DJ) Dazzy D!

When I was doing club work and promoting my own nights playing Indie / Alternative / Rock etc, I would put Gary Cee on the flyers and posters.
That's kind of stuck with me and loads of people in my area know me as that but it is my name after all. When I first started and clubs wanted to put DJ Gary on the posters I didn't like the idea of it so the Cee bit is the initial of my surname. Nothing special but it's provided me with an identity I guess.

I used to travel by the name 'DJ Jus'. Jus being the shorter version of my name I prefer. As opposed to what a lot of my so-called friends used to call me - 'Jussy'. ARGHHH. I did once appear on the bill of a battle of the DJs against 'Fatboy Fat' as 'Armand van Hadron' (deliberate censoring typo)... the battle never went ahead because Fatboy Fat didn't like his temporary moniker. It wasn't my idea BTW

I have just used my first name.

The first disco I worked on the lads liked DJ names.
I worked with DJ Junior Roscoe and DJ Willy Cash.
Sadly Willy is no longer with us.
