As it was asked on another thread how on earth I got my hands on a Wizard Extreme (needing some parts admitedly) for £30 well I am happy to say I did it again

Got myself this QTX Mito 1420mW RGB Laser for £10 somewhat broken. It blew fuses as soon as they were fitted and it needed a couple of diodes in the power supply, an XY motor driver IC (which is what took out the PSU diodes in the first place), a couple hours of head scratching and a faulty SMD transistor that was a bitch to diagnose.... plus a bit of delicate soldering to fix it..... but now it works sweet :) Total cost £10 + £6.40 for replacement parts and a bit of spare time. Believe these are best part of £500 to buy new.

Think I am gonna keep this as a centerpiece on my own rig for a while but may well part with it if something else comes along or I get tempted enough

Anyway I am feeling quite happy tonight, hence the post Here it is working in my workshop. https://youtu.be/GEJ8sresWzk

Looking forward to trying this on the 'Ibiza Wedding' gig this Saturday :)

I've got a few good deals on stuff that isn't broken also.
I remember buying a complete disco for £1200 which included 2 Mackie srm450s 2 decent mixers 2 lasers 2 triclops, and about 5 ok ish lights I sold with stands and microphones. everything but the music really... Still got a lot of the stuff and I sold some of it separately. Was probably worth £2000 easy.

Also bought a rcf sub for something silly cheap £300 or around about that when they were selling for £500 all day long because the volume pot needed replacement.
I'm no pro with electrics but I know how to unsolder one thing and solder another in exactly the same place!
