A few playlists for upcoming functions

[Shakermaker Promotions]

Hi all,
What I like about this job is the variety. No week is ever the same even if some of the songs are.
It is still touch and go as to whether I will actually be able to do this weekend's bookings and I am leaving it as late as possible before I make the decision. I have the very reliable and trustworthy Daryll on standby (Thanks mate!).
The reason being is that all week I have been suffering from a very bad back. To be truthful, it is self inflicted as I met up with a friend at the weekend who I hadn't seen for 18 years. We had a lot to catch up on and a lot to drink and on my way home I slipped over and couldn't get up. On Monday I found it very hard to walk. As I speak on Thursday morning it is a lot better than it was. The problem I have is that I am unable to take pain killers as I am on other medication so I have been using heat patches and lots of deep heat.

Anyway, enough of that....Here's what is coming up for me over the weekend and next weekend before I take a break and go away for a few days.

Friday - RAF Summer Ball / Dinner & Dance
I do this every year at my main residency and it is for those that have retired from the RAF. It is usually 80 guests all around the 70 year old mark. It's always a good one and I usually start around 9.30pm after they've had dinner. It is so different music wise to what I usually do and is a chilled out affair but they love it.

No wonder you're looking forward to these, Gary. Apart from the fact that I don't have enough knowledge or tracks re Bhangra, that's three very nice lists. The RAF one would be right in my comfort zone, less so for you. It's always nice to play something you don't play every week, as you so rightly say, the variety of this job is a real plus.

Sometimes. :):)

[Nakatomi]

Bag the best man? What's that all about then?

[Shakermaker Promotions]

I was waiting for someone to ask that question!!
I am sure there are different title's for this. If you type in 'Bag The Best Man' on YouTube, there is an example.
Apparently the Best Man for this particular wedding is a proper joker so the joke will be on him on this occasion.

The idea is that there will be a 'Dance Off' at some point during the night. The Groom, Best Man and all the guys that went on the Stag Night will get on the dance floor and they will have bags over their heads or blindfolds. The Groom and everyone else will know what is happening but the Best Man won't.
I will announce that there is a dancing competition between the guys and the rest of the guests will judge who is best but after a minute or so everyone else will leave the dance floor and leave the Best Man on his own doing his best moves.

I've done a 4 minute mix of I'm Too Sexy, Sexy & I Know It, Gangnam Style, Cha Cha Slide and finish with The Timewarp.

It should be interesting if it works properly.

[Nakatomi]

Sounds like a right good laugh if it works. Pardon my ignorance, but is this mostly a regional or a cultural thing? Either way it's great to find out about 'different' things like this.

[Shakermaker Promotions]

I wouldn't know.
I met the Bride & Groom last week. She's Indian and mentioned that they'd seen the video and wanted to try it.
