After a bit of assistance if possible.
My current set up is as folows:
Alto Professional Live 802 Mixer (http://www.altoproaudio.com/products/live-802)
Ekho RS15A 15" Inch Active Speaker x 2 (http://www.electromarket.co.uk/2x-ekho-rs15a-active-speakers-cables-1600w)
Now I've just got the QTX Sound QT15SA 15" Active Subwoofer Speaker 600W (http://www.electromarket.co.uk/qtx-sound-qt15sa-15-active-subwoofer-speaker-300w) and I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing.
Am I ok to use just 1 x sub and go from mixer > sub > speaker using XLR cable or is there any other way I can connect the sub straight from the mixer e.g. monitor?
Or...should I be using 2 x of these subs going from mixer > subs > speakers?
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Hello Jake.
That sub doesn't have a high pass out ( for top speakers ), so basically, any way you connect it will work roughly the same. The frequency control on it controls what the sub produces, not what it passes on. Therefore mixer>top> sub is the same as mixer>sub>top.
With what you have, I'd go into the tops as normal, and link the sub from one of the through outputs on the tops. I don't see a mono output on that mixer, which would have been the preferred option.
If you don't understand that because I've explained it badly, keep asking, it's easier to wire up than explain, sorry

If your tops have a high pass or low cut switch, use that too which should make their life easier

Excellent advice. Sadly, they're EKHO, not QSC. They don't. ;)

I've had one of those QTX subs, do not overdrive it ever, it will pop.
The amp module on it actually only gives 67 watts RMS (take a look at it's component code and look it up)

Yup - I've got a pair of dead 15's in my store at the moment - both with blown drivers :(
That said, I also have a pair of the 15" tops that have blown as well. I really must have a trip down the local tip at some point

It's a subject we've discussed recently. I can't actually find the thread. Dicky took one to bits, and it's not particularly loud, or robust electrically. The passive ones however, once the cabinet has been stiffened up a bit are not at all bad.
I know it's spending your money for you, and it's still not going to blow the windows out, but this (ALTO PROFESSIONAL TS SUB 15" ACTIVE SUBWOOFER SPEAKER 1200W TRUESONIC SERIES) is a far superior ( but still budget ) offering. It will actually filter the output to the tops, to let them have an easier life. You might find one s/h nearer £200 if you're lucky.
