Berk & The Virtual Band

[dicky]

Maybe some of you already heard them but I wasn't aware of this artist until I came across a bar playing one of their albums in Gran Canaria a couple weeks ago.

I suspect some of you may find this sort of thing useful for some classy gig in a marquee somewhere lol

Here is a typical example of what they do

Their version of YMCA is........ interesting

There are two albums that I know of - you can listen to them on spotify and elsewhere

This is one of them.

Prefer Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox myself though. You should hear their take on 'Timber' :D

Hi Justin - will check that out, cheers mate

I can still see some of this sorta 'lounge jazz' going down well in certain venues as background music?

On a similar topic, and seeing as we seem to have some similar tastes - another recent 'discovery' of mine in Gran Canaria though it ain't new in the slightest

Gregory Porter - 1960 What?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBBHCdrz2JU - version they were playing in one of the clubs we visited several times, I loved this soon as I heard it. WOW! Spending two months a year down there now but think I may well move to GC permanently at some point to be honest.

Original version - very 'Mario Biondi' in style - Absolute Class!!! Who said all the great soul singers were dead and gone?..... Wish I had an opportunity to play this style of music
