Help wiring new mixer for karaoke setup

Hi everyone,
I've not DJed in years and a friend has asked me to have a go at wiring their setup for them and I can have a play when ever I want, but I'm having issues setting it up correctly. What they need is to be able to play music using their PC and at the same time have 2 mics for Karaoke. At the moment I can only get the music playing and 1 mic to work.

Amp: Prosound 800
Mixer: Behringer BCA2000
Mics: Prosound Dual Mics

I've had a quick look at the manual, and although I don't understand the computer/midi bit, I'm fairly sure it won't run two mics and a stereo music source at once.
I can't be sure, but possibly you can make the stereo channel into mono, freeing one up for the second mic.

If I'm absolutely honest, I wouldn't use that mixer for karaoke. Both of those will do what you want, and will give effects on the mic channels. I'm aware that I've suggested you spend money, and I haven't given you the answer you wanted, and quite possibly someone who is clued up on the BCA will tell us how to do that.

I think the problem is the mic unit from the looks of it you will only get one mike working unless you use the jack mono socket which mixes both mics.

I don't think that's the case as the receiver has an individual balanced mic ouput for each mic (labelled A and B). So long as each goes in to it's own balanced input on the mixer that should be fine.

I've got to go work now but I'll look at those pictures later on. :)

I agree with Peter. For karaoke you need DSP/On Board FX at the very minimum basic echo/reverb which that mixer doesn't appear to have. Given it has a dedicated "guitar" input I'd guess it isn't intended for karaoke. Yes, you could include an inline fx box or add an echo chamber on the mic lead before going in to the mixer but I'd prefer to stick to a mixer that has these functions as standard.

Thinking about the mics, are the gains up for both channels on the receiver? I can't see any mic sliders or level knobs on the mixer. Are the turned up? (I know these are very basic questions but best to start with the basics!).

I read the manual earlier (must be that time of year again) and it has (and I quote the manual) three analogue channels - if you use Stereo line in, that's two gone based on the way this weird little beastie is set up.

You can either use the pre-mixed output from the dual mic receiver to get both mics running through one channel (so you'd have to control the individual mic gains on the wireless receiver, and the overall output level via the mixer, or as Peter said, run the laptop input in mono to free up another channel for the second mic.

This isn't really what this mixer was built for though.

P.S. you may also want to consider taking the outputs from the master out, not the control room out.
