Treat myself to some 1980's folded horn speakers.

Managed to pick up a couple of folded horn speakers for £100.
They sound good and are loud for their size.

I have for years been looking for some Orange folded horn speakers but they either came up rarely or were a silly price.
These two Fane bins came along which look very similar so I grabbed them.

WOW flared horns, got my single Goodmans ( see you are showing off with twins ) in 1975 just in time to appreciate the top end of Cockney Rebel Make me smile--a revelation in sound after standard speakers.

No need to turn the treble to maximum.:rolleyes:

I still have them in my garage somewhere!!!!

Im sure that will give a good sound range, just a bit of mucking about setting up and transporting.

They are a bit on the heavy side.
The speakers will be old with heavy magnets.
Considering replacing driver with a new Fane 15 inch speaker to save on weight.

I first heard horn type speakers in 1976, a disco I worked for bought a pair of Orange folded horn speakers.
The Orange ones were a bit higher than mine.

According to what I have read about them they are about twice as loud as a sealed cabinet due to the horn loading.
