Just packing away yesterday and I popped my lighting/backup laptop into it's bag, placed it onto a high stage, carried on packing away then got hold of the arm strap thinking it was zipped up and pulled it off the stage quickly..... weeeeeee.... crash... smash.... didn't zip it up did I!

It flew around 4m before smashing.

Something good came out of it though (literally came out of it). The USB to DMX driver CD I'd been looking for a couple of days beforehand and couldn't find anywhere!

Oddly enough it works just fine despite missing many parts of plastic! USB, power, mouse, keyboard, wifi ... everything works except the CD drive which refuses to go further than halfway in!
Good job I only spent £150 on this 2 years ago and have a backup, backup laptop ready to step in!

Ooof!

My trusty old FFRR record bag suits me fine. It's impossible for anything to fall out of it unless you were to carry it upside down.

All my other zipped bags have lids so if you carry them properly nowt will fall out :)

That said, I thought I was saving myself some time over the Christmas party season in carrying my light rig top assembly into another room, still rigged. All went well til I went to put it down... crunch went one of my scanner mirrors. D'oh. It's all fixed up now though & I won't be so lazy again!

Laziness... My thoughts exactly!

To be fair if I'd used the bag correctly it wouldn't have been an issue... I pulled it quickly (in a rush) and it was face down so it catapulted the laptop out... Hard wooden floor also... I'm tempted to get a laptop flight case just to prevent dumb moves like that again.

Good old Dell... Note that you can easily and cheaply get the parts to repair this if you're prepared to invest about £20 and an evening with a small screwdriver.
