My 2 top favourite artists ever are David Bowie and Stevie Wonder. Both have been so influential to me as a teenager and I continued to follow both artists right through to the modern day. What a huge shock and very very saddening.
Listening to the radio today (and channel hopping), I don't think any other artist has had so much of their music played on the airwaves upon their death since John Lennon's horrific demise.

Absolutely.

My dad was mad into Bowie when I was growing up so it was both the sound track to a lot of my earliest memories and probably the first artist that pulled me out of that teenage moron logic that states anything your parents listen to must be crap.

I actually feel that way when someone you maybe weren't super close to but had known a long time passes away... makes me dread what I'm going to be like when the Boss goes.

Last year I did a gig for a Labyrinth themed wedding where I dressed up as Jareth. It was an amazing night so I put a wee montage of it together and got a bit sentimental at the end:

I must admit, I'm not a massive fan, but when I started thinking about his music, there are loads of tunes I really like.

The early disco stuff, John im only dancing and Jean Genie were a pleasure to play first time round in the early 70s when I started and it helped kickstart the Glam Rock period---what a time to be a DJ--Bowie, Slade, Sweet, Bay City Rollers, T Rex, GG, even Quo and Rod Stewart--happy days.

Later Bowie issued probably my all time fave-- REBEL REBEL put on your dress--Rebel Rebel your face is a mess :D:D:D:D

I'd defy anyone to come up with an artist or band with a 3 album run t poo beat hunky dory, ziggy and alladin sane.

Shops are flat out of blackstar so I listened to it onspotify and its alright. I put ziggy stardust on as I made dinner and revisited the magic.
