Having turned on the TV this morning to hear the sad news my first thoughts are.... Do i need to dust off my copy of 'The Floral Dance'? :confused:

I've missed ole Tel ever since he quit Radio 2's breakfast show. It was never the music I listened for - it was Sir Terry's sparkling (and often risqué) wit every time. We'll never see or hear the likes of him again. Rest in peace.

Can I just ask that we give him the respect that he's due after his life full of achievements? It's Sir Terry Wogan.

By the way, I had great respect for the man. My life, even more than music, has revolved around British TV shows. He was a great chat show host with Wogan, a great presenting personality with The Eurovision Song Contest and Children In Need. But my greatest memories are of him presenting that fantastic quiz with amazing special effects and top notch prizes, Blankety Blank. :eek: To be honest, if he wasn't presenting it with those cheeky grins and nods to the camera then I don't think that show would have ever caught on. The show format was poor, dire in fact. It was kept afloat by presenters with wacky personalities (Sir Terry, Les Dawson and Lily Savage). It was the presenters that made viewers, like me, want to tune in. And, in Sir Terry, the BBC chose the best man for the job to bring the show to TV and set it up for future presenters.

RIP Sir Terry. However, there are quite few famous celebrities up there this year to interview should you fancy making a new ethereal version of Wogan! :)

I never listened to him on the radio I have to admit but saw his final sign off and his voice and delivery is both fantastic and unique. Sad loss indeed.
