I'm planning to bring in a set of Acme Dynamo Party Scans, to use in conjunction with a couple of Twister 4's.

I plan to use them on medium-large sized dance floors, to get more 'movement' on the floor. I currently use a pair of old Abstract Futurescans for this, but they are getting on a bit, and I want to try something different!

My question is this : how well would they link with the T4's? Could I control the master Dynamo Scan with the CA-8 controller, then chain the rest of the scans together with DMX cables, followed by the T4's?

Or.... could I set one T4 as master to the other, then chain the Scans up after the second T4 (obviously I would sacrifice the controller this way, but the sound->light on the new HP T4's is excellent :))

Thanks in advance, Compadres :approve:

i have dynamos and i shows i have the dynamos on a ca-8 connected to the master and have my show inverted via dipswitches so 2 does opposite of 1 and 4 does opposite of 3 etc then i master slave the i shows.

if you need and help with the dipswitch settings let me know.

You will have to run the t4's master slave. As they will not link up with the dynamos.only way round it would be to get a dmx controller and program it yourself.

Aah I see, so to have them all working together I need a DMX desk? I presume I will need some kind of crossover DMX cable for the Abstract units too?

You'll need to check the way the pins are wired for the T4s - it says on the back of the units, and no you won't be able to run them off the CA-8 and you will need a controller.

I have just got a 4 head Acme Dynamo Party Scan pack and was wondering is it possible to set the lights so that if light 1 was the master, light 2 would copy it and then 3 & 4 would do the opposite movements.

1. 2. 3. 4.

1 and 2 say point left yellow and 3 & 4 point right yellow.

is this possible?

I know this is :offtopic: - but just to 'hijack' the thread for a minute to say 'hello' to new member 'iainmc' and to suggest that you start a thread in the 'Newbies' section to indroduce yourself to the other forum members :D

Right..... back on topic now :p

yes i have mine as so i think ( without going to the shed and checking)

master dip 1 down

head 2 dip 1,2 and 3 down

head 3 dip 2,3 and 10 down

head 4 dip 1,2, and 3 down

try that thats to have head 2 doing opposite of head one and head 3 doing opposite of head 4 so just by moving your heads about you should get the effect you want.

hope this helps. all you do is have head 1 as master then link them together.
