Quick question are the mackie 300z speakers the same as the 450`s just without the built in amp???

cant comment on the passive range but i use srm450s and they are awesome cant speak highly enough of them and if they are built and run as well you shouldnt have a problem.

are the active ones fairly light? and what are the active bass bins like?

i got the active ones for weight 2 active mackies were lighter than my old passive speakers and a flightcased amp and one less trip up the fire escape. the active bass bins are awesome ive got 1501 built like concrete blocks but the sound is something else.

You're not really saving that much though tbh. I would pay the extra few quid and buy them from this country.
