I'm looking for a white speaker for use as background music. Needs to be light, and compact.

Really struggling to find something suitable. The Maui 28 is too heavy for what I need.

Any suggestions? Would prefer to stay away from passive (found loads of those), as I don't want an amp sat underneath it.

Best option I've found so far is an active sub and passive top, but seems a bit overkill to have a sub for it!

Any recommendations?

The Maui 5 would be perfect - if they were available in white! (I'm sure they will be at some point).

You could alway make a white Lycra sleeve for it, then you'd have the choice of black or white.

Agree about the Maui 5.

Would have been ideal.

Where do you get speaker scrims from?

Think you’ll have get them made (or have a go yourself).

I used to do the white speaker thing for weddings and ceremonies, to be honest it wasn’t a selling point, people didn’t seem to care less (and for ceremonies the speaker was never in sight anyway). Column style speakers are so inconspicuous they’re not really noticed whatever colour they are.

That’s OK, you’re allowed to have a different experience to me :)

When I first got a white set-up and started telling my wedding clients about it it got a ‘whatever you think is best’ reaction, I was going to be booked regardless.

But I totally get why a stunning white set-up would be very attractive to some clients, mine just don’t seem that bothered, their focus is firmly on the music.

And credit to you for having a proper white system. It looks really nice.

I see too many people selling a "white setup" when all they have is a white scrim booth!
