Hi everyone,

I have just joined the forum, thought id introduce myself.

About me and my past
I have been a vinyl "bedroom" DJ for the last 18 years, done a few paid events here and there and some parties for mates.
Last year I decided to go digital, got myself a nice new laptop and a Traktor Kontrol S4 MKII.

Dance music (House, Garage, Old skool, Dnb, Trap) is where my passion for DJ'ing and mixing lies.
However I have decided I just like all music in general and enjoy playing to people, so have just bought a pile of new gear to start my own mobile DJ business with the added option to include mixed sets if the require that kind of entertainment too.

Would love to waffle on and tell you about my new gear and hear your opinions on my setup, or any other advice too, but I'll leave it there for now.

I got into mobile DJing from trance/house in nightclubs no regrets so far (it's been 5 years) :) welcome!

Welcome to the forum Gavin.

I wouldn't say I love a lot of the music I play but who said you have to (does any DJ seriously listen to the Cha Cha Slide & Come On Eileen at home?!)? For me it's all about giving the people what they want. That's how I get my jollies these days. Doing mobiles is a lot more fun than I remember club & bar gigs being in the end - customers & guests are generally so much nicer - and in over 18 months I don't think I've seen a single fight!

I may be a dance music junkie, and you may be right in saying "all" music. But I have been known to throw all pride out the window when it comes to a bit of cheese.
Few beers, couple of sausage rolls and I'm all over the cha cha slide! :banana:

Guys, I tried to create a new thread but it doesn't appear... I this because the have to be authorised first?
And should I still be able to see it when others cant? (bit like the first newbie post?)

Because I cant see it and it tells me I have duplicated my post when I try to post again. :confused:

Gavin, basically, yes you're correct. The thread is created, but not made public, so when you try again, the forum tells you it's a duplicate.

You have to wait for a Mod or Admin to approve it. We do our best, but it may sometimes involve a wait. Please bear with us.
