View Full Version : By passing MC6000 mic chs

Afternoon all.

Had the MC6000 mk1 mic channel problem for the first time lastnight and am keen to avoid it again!

Can anyone recommend a compact 2 ch mixer to run through one of the line ins so bypassing the mic inputs.

Go the other way round. Feed the 6000 into a line input on a little Behringer1202/Alto equivalent/Soundcraft/Allan and Heath, and use the mic inputs on there.

Altenatively, upgrade the 6000 to an ADJ VMS 4.1, and solve your problem at a stroke. :sofa:

Seems a bit strange buying a quality controller then plugging it in to another mixer lol

Why not just buy an attenuator XLR adapter? Cheaper & much more elegant than an external mixer.

I'd already be using a VMS 4.1 if the mic on/off buttons were on the top panel as opposed to the front. I dunno though.. maybe I'd get used to it - I don't use switched mics & never have. Mind then there's always the possibility of using a switched XLR plug on my mic cables instead.

Thanks for suggestion, this has been suggested elsewhere too.

Have just been on ebay and got a -10 & a -20 db so will see how I get on.

On my MC6000, initially I tried attenuators, but ended up taking advice from Peter a while ago.

I usually keep the master gain at 12 o'clock on the MC6000, this give me a much better level on the mic channels :)

Worth a try.
