Can i link showtec sm-8/2 scanmaster to my laptop

I have showtec sm-8/2 scanmaster and i would like to know is it possible to connect it to laptop through midi-usb cable. That dmx controler has only midi input, so im curious could it send midi signal back through that port to usb cable when i move faders or press buttons?

The USER MANUAL (https://www.highlite.nl/silver.download/Documents@extern@Manuals/50700_MANUAL_GB_V1.pdf) says the MIDI port is an INPUT only, so no. You won't be able to send control changes from the desk to your computer.
