Patti Smith - Because the night

I used to play this a few years back around the same time as a "dance" version of it was kicking about.

Titles and reasons why---

Slade--Cum on feel the noize-huge crowd pleaser ( the photographer in Birmingham last night was a big Slade fan and asked--but hey you cant play Slade at a Kurdish Wedding---even in Brum:eek: )

Blockbuster ( Sweet ) they used to play that at Aylesbury United every time my son or anyone for the home side scored a goal--;)

Anything Gary Glitter---no criticism please the guy was a massive floorfiller in the 70s.

You aint seen nothin yet ---Bachman Turner Overdrive--superb guitar sound.

Maggie May /You wear it well Rod Stewart--played those to death in the 70s.
So popular you got asked to play them several times on the same evening.

Suzi Quatro--Devil Gate Drive--the best she ever did--it rocks.

Tiger Feet Mud--Massive floorfiller in the 70s--love it.

Thats enough--I could go on for ever:zip:

Rah Band - The Crunch (nice one Steve, love that track and always try to fit it in when I'm doing pub gigs to the older regulars).

Chicory Tip - Son Of My Father (there's another classic!).

Boz Scaggs - Lowdown or Lido Shuffle
Hollies - Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress
Alessi Brothers - Oh Lori (bit cheesy but a good tune, none the less)
Jimmy Helms - Gonna make you an offer you can't refuse

Oh yuss. ;) ;) A much underrated artist.

OK, here are one or two from me, found whilst searching for something else. More to follow, no doubt.

Joe Tex-Ain't gonna bump no more. . I just daren't play this nowadays, in case it causes offence. Am I sad, or is the situation?
Climax Blues Band- Couldn't get it right. . Great song.
Steve Miller-Rock 'n' me. So what if he nicked the riff from Free? It's still a great song.

I'd like to add Liverpool Express to our forgotten 70's mix - 'You Are My Love' obviously, but they did loads of great songs.
