I've never understood someone's desire to spend their time and effort writing such a message.

Sure, if they had booked you, paid for your services, and were massively disappointed because you didn't play any of the songs they'd discussed with you in advance, then I can understand such a lengthy complaint.

I don't know for certain, but I would wager that this is not a singular visit to a website. They have crawled my site more thoroughly than Google, to a level that matches their sociopathic message.

Whoever this is and wherever they are, I currently live rent free in their head.

My biggest two requests from prospective clients this year have been:

1. Videos of me performing

2. A complete recorded set

When I drilled into the video point to see what they wanted, it was a quick rig video, video footage of the first dance and then a few shots of people enjoying themselves. I personally don't think people would learn a lot from either of these (I doubt anyone has the patience to listen to a whole 5hr set, and what would the video tell them that still photos wouldn't!?!)

Anyway, back to the OP. You dodged a bullet there...

How very strange. It almost reads as one of those elaborate scams where you can't quite work out what they're trying to achieve (or is it just me that gets those ones that are looking for venue availability for a very fluffy date when I'm not even a venue?)

I don't post too many videos/sets on my website either (as in actual sound) - there are copyright laws involved here apparently :o
What I DO do is post a "played list" along with a writeup of each and every gig I do (well...the good ones at least). That seems to appease most of the lesser educated out there ;)

Oh! Hang on! Sets? What are those in the world outside of the bedroom jock? At a LIVE event (such as one of those this person can only dream of), we read the floor, we go with the flow, we play what the crowd react to - we certainly very RARELY program "sets"....or is that just me?

If they really were a potential customer, who'd even take the time to write something like that? You're not wrong about living rent free in their head!

But cheesy?! That'd be the last word I'd use to describe your promo content Benny. Envy triggering & "god why can't I think of this stuff?" would be more like it.

It reminded me of the message I got out of the blue trolling me about being an untalented waste of oxygen as opposed to being a skilled musician. Only yours was less sweary & much more eloquent.

Mind I wouldn't rule out it being someone who read something here & felt put out by recent thread comments. If you can marry up webserver access logs to the time of the message it might be worth taking a look. Just for curiosity's sake.
