Hi all
I am looking into buying a the 1.7m Ultimax Mobile Rig - the one with the dual crossbar, but without winch.
Am I correct in thinking that you can buy additonal lengths of crossbar to extend it? If so, how do you do this, does the rig need additonal support?
Cheers

Speak to Andy Tain at Ultimax 0121 585 8001 - they moved recently, so the number may have a re-direct.
He's always pretty helpful.

Sam,
The maximum width of the stands themselves available is 1.7M. if you wish to shorten the width of your stand in the future, you only need to buy the shorter crosspieces.
Have a look at the link below, which will give you a detailed explanation of all you need to know about these excellent stands. I have been using Ultimax/Ultimate for yours and, in my opinion, are the best and most replaible on the market.

If you have a look at the 'Contact Us' page, you can order direct from Ultimate themselves. Speak to Andy Tain (and say Ian from Limelight sent you   )

I think Sam was talking about extending the overhead bar:)

Cheers guys, I will give them a call in the week.
What I really want to be able to do is make the lighting bar longer, as if I want to put my full show up everything is squashed together too much. If I can't extend the rig, I guess I will have to buy the ultimax and a couple of T-Bars.

If you want to do that, and to include more options for if you ever increase your light rig, why not buy some trilite truss and have it on two tripods? (ie normal truss) then buy an ultimax stand without the crossbar to create your "performing area"

Thats the thing, I really want to get away from using tripods for my light rig. I currently use a prolight goalpost, but having four tripods (including the two speakers stands) really looks a mess. I'm also gonna get some poles so I can put my tops in my bins, getting rid of all tripods.
