dmx controller stand alone or pc ?

Right the following lights,

4 x Acme Dynamo Scans
2 x Amce Lynx
2 x EVL Spins

Whats best to go for pc based freestyler looks a pain to setup ! we had a look last night which is around 50 all in

Or theres the chauvet adaptor and softare for 110 mark

or a physical controller !, If so which controller not lookign to shell out loads realy.

For your case, I would say console. and I will recommend (as always) The Chauvet DMX-50 or the Acme iSolution desk (which is actually the same as the DMX-50 with different branding on it)

I suggest this because, I wouldn't trust a computer to do anything else other than run lighting software at anyone time, so you'd need another laptop/desktop to run your lights, and then to make quick changes to the lights you need a mouse/keyboard....why not make life easier and use a console.

Also, if you had intentions to run DJ software and Lighting software on the same machine, at the same time, I would.....run!

we have 3 laptops so wouldnt be a problem,

yip i would agree to keep the cost down and lets face it there is not a mass of lights there a basic dmx controller would do the job, a pc is nicer as you can tend to see what your doing but the cost is way more
