confetti cannons

got this wedding tommorrow and have bought some very large confetti cannons and just wondered if anyone uses them and how good they are?

Never used them yet - but aim to next year - lets us know how you get on with them, is it the proper cannon or the pull string patrty popper

ohhh yeahhh they are good... we've used them on a number of occasions. Just dont think about the mess as your firing them.

Done a 6th formers Xmas Ball last saturday where they requested them to be let off towards the end. Had a teacher come up to us afterwards saying that they were chatting amoung themselves saying how little they had to sweep up just as we let off the cannons. Apparently we were called a few names, but we picked up several bookings from that night from the teachers so wasn't all bad :D :D

We've used both confetti cannons and spark showers on a number of occasions. You cant beat the impressed looks on peoples faces when they're set off at the right time. The best song we've used is 'DJ Sammy - Heaven'. As a last song at the end of the night, set off just after the build up, it's superb.

Are we talking professional ones or the three or four foot tube ones where you twist the base?

Hi, I have used hand held one shot conons made by soundlab befor and must say i was NOT impressed.
Out of five that we tried to use, only three went off. and we found that along with the confetti paper inside was a load of coloured paper dust.
not only very messy but the colour came off the paper staining the table cloths and carpet.

We have now bought a reloadable gas hand held confetti launcher, this lets us pick what we want to launch.

I would say it would be worth emptying one of your canons to check the contents befor used at an event.
I have only tried the soundlab ones and cant comment on other makes,
yours may be fine.

The base twist ones are useless - it's just a naff spring in there that don't usually fire the contents very far or well.

Proper confetti canons can be great - just make sure you have enough clearance in the direction you are firing them...

Blowing a hole through 4 roof tiles is funny at the time but the venue don't like it!! This happened when I was djing at the student union and we also had an Abba Tribute act playing. At the peak of their set, they set 2 off blowing the holes in the roof.

That was 6 years ago - anytime we do any work near the roof even to this day, confetti still falls from somewhere....

Something that I'm surprised no-one has mentioned yet..... check with the venue that you CAN use them. Many don't allow it at all!

ive had an idea with those big confetti filled balloons that people are now getting for first dances ive looked around and the only ones i can find range from 30-50 quid now ive done a bit of pricing and im going to try and make one which i think will cost me less than a tenner.

not bad if its just something to give that little bit more included in the price(well was till i just posted it and now you lot will be trying it on sunday lol). lol id never sell anything id made as extra lol

Well, I use a point twist and fire type tube cannon - about 4 foot long or 5 foot depending on the type. Have to say they aren't half bad - have managed to cover a basketball court with two!

i have been using confetti cannons for some time now and i now have what i think are the best in the market, if you go to my web site you should be able to see some pics of the hand held cannons, they come in 4 different sizes.

small/medium/large/monster/:eek:

these are very good and use a little gas bottle that is attached to the bottom, once used just through away,

the other kind of cannons i use are electric cannons same sort of divice exept i have a controler that lets me set off up to six in order or together.
these ones are the best but are not cheep for the kit

these ones can be filled with colors to match the event or wedding


they do make alot of mess, but thats why hotels and other venues have cleaners?

on the odd occasion a venue has told the bride that they can not have them and the bride would mention that if they could not have the wedding they wanted then they might take there business else ware, the venue has always given in so far. and lets be honest the venues make alot of money on weddings.

all i can tell you is that they are made by a company in belgium called euroheat international, i have no web site for them and have never been able to find one.

but becouse i am in the business of supplying party products i am able to get them via one of my suppliers. i do at the moment supply local dj's with these cannons and i could if needed see what sort of deal i could do for members on this forum.:)

I've use the le Maitre 2 pod firing system to fire confetti cannons at functions before and you really can't beat the effect they give.... A massive loud bang followed by a nice slow flutter of confetti raining from the sky...

I attach the angled pods onto the top of the trussing bar and angle to point further in the air and it gives great height and distance to the confetti....

Far far far better than any hand held confetti cannon as sold on ebay and in party shops etc... Quite expensive though...
