Probably similar to the ones Blockbuster use. If you take a scratched disc into them and ask them nicely, they will use their machine to polish out the scratches for you.

I use Brasso to polish out the the worst scratches and then turlewax colour restore which is less abrasive to polish it a bit and a final polish with cheap Tesco spray wax polish to finish off!

We've got a little mini version of it (a manual version, rather that electric). We've had it a couple of years, and yes, it does work..... but I doubt it would on really bad scratches.

wonder if it works on cdg or video cd cus they fail very quickly even if handled with silk gloves

Notice it is an ultra sonic cleaner which means it will remove marks like finger marks but it won't remove scratches. Unless the disc fails due to a greasy mark, my betting is it won't help much.

I'd be up for chucking £5 in to a pot for positive proof that it would work or not.

Anyone else curious enough to chuck in £5?

If enough people are we could buy one from the fivers and try it out, if the person who gets it is happy and it does a great job and they want to keep it they give the fivers back to everyone, then it's upto everyone to buy their own if they want to, if however it's pants it's only cost us a fiver to find out for sure.

Anyone else?????

I read Ang's post as she had the mini-version I was thinking of the full blown all singing all dancing one to see if it removes deep scratches
