Do you love it, or like myself, hate it?

I am sick of it, and there's no avoiding it either :(

It actually makes me ashamed to be part of the western world, all the greed and gluttony without a thought about others. I don't think we are quite as bad as the US, but even so I wish it would go back to the respectful and private way it was a century ago :)

Religion has been changed to suit.

Anyway, I enjoy Christmas day and boxing day, as I spend it with my family after not seeing them much for a month or so.

Work? Well it's busier than normal and the logistics of it all for me are horrendous. Just over 50 bookings and one man to organise it all - me!

As said in another thread, the bookings I've done personally have been fantastic, so that makes it a lot easier.

What I don't like is when I'm doing the last couple of parties, running low on enthusiasm and people just aren't interested.

Actually the Christian church needed a festival to replace an existing pagan one (as they were prone to do with all pagan festivals, out with the old in with the new)


Anyway, I enjoy Christmas day and boxing day, as I spend it with my family after not seeing them much for a month or so.But if it wasn't for christmas you wouldn't be doing the extra work & therefore would have seen more of them anyway.

I'm not, you can enjoy time with your family any time of year. The extra work during the festive season means you see less of them. No Christmas = less work = more family time (OK it would as often as not be just Sunday rather than 2 days on the trot, but you see my point?)

I love Christmas Day and Boxing day. Loved it when I was a child and now love watching my kids enjoy it. Hopefully we retain enough tradition in our house for it to be more that an "I want" gift-fest for the kids.

It should be 2 weeks to cover just before Christmas day to just after New Year's Day. That's always a nice time for me.

Nope, I could handle working 14 -21 days on the trot, if it meant not having to hear anyone on TV going "It's Christmasssssssssssssssssssssss" for 2 months solid

Just to clarify, that is I would be happy doing all my christmas parties between now & New Years Day, if it meant that it was the extent of the Christmas period & it wasn't mentioned untill now (not October, not November, just 3 weeks in December)

I'm a Christmas "humbug"! Always so much to do and so little time to do it. Extra complication of health problems this year.

I always love New Years Eve. End of the Christmas season and a great party.

Anyhow.... whether or not you are a believer, I think that there is enough historical evidence to show that Jesus did exist, so although he may not have been born on 25 December, he was born and so celebrating his birth is what it is about. People may choose not to and that's their perogotive, but it's wrong to dismiss other people's beliefs.

Anyway, Christmas....... I used to love Christmas, but I agree with others who have said about the commercialisation of it all. It's now all just rush rush rush; hassle hassle hassle, and then by the time it finally arrives and you've started to relax and enjoy it - it's over!
