help with pa systems

Hi , id like to know which systems people use , and how much it costs, as im unsure which is decent but at a lowish cost, some1 tells me this is ok but im unsure, help please?:)

Speakers: Martin Audio F10s + Zeck 15" subs (I paid £800 second hand, new prices the tops are £1k, no idea about the subs though.) + Carlsbro Powered Gamma 15" Full range cabs - (I paid £575 last Jan but they're under £500 new now)

Amps: Powersoft Q4002 (paid £900 second hand, but around £1.8-2k new) + Behringer EP2500 (£200ish new)

Personally, i'd look out for good second hand deals. Or brand new.. the Peavey Pro range are pretty good for the money!

http://www.harmonymusic.co.uk/kustompa.htm We use one of these for quiz nights, and play your cards right, or anything else that needs a small PA, had no trouble with it and very loud for its size, but as Angela says all depends on what you want to use one for.

Thats that 1 too. Yeah something smallish really, its just when you have little knowledge on good pa's and which 1s are best suited to certain environments you dont know which to get, i will need more help and advice in future, thanks for youre replies, much appreciated.:)

Well looking at what you want to use them for and trying to do it on a budget for you - have a look at the W-audio PSR 8 (or PSR12 but they are bit more)

Just picked up a pair of W-audio PSR8's for the likes of quiz's / Games / extra fill at the back of a room or for where the bar / food / smoking area is in a different room to the main disco etc...

Have to say i was very impressed with them. Used them for the first time in a small bar on New Years Eve - as i was set up in the restaurant but the manager wanted the music in the bar too....

Have to say they coped really well! there was around 50 people on the bar and I was really worried at first as are they only 150w each at most and only have 8" drivers in but they still packed a punch - even took one of my spare powered subs to add to it incase but it stayed in the van - wasn't pushing them very hard either - had to turn it down twice as was too loud in the bar... Think if there was any more than 50 in they might have struggled and the powered sub would have been needed but for anything under 50 i cant fault them.

Not bad really - picked up the pair brand new for £200 and they come with protective covers than you dont have to take the speakers out of to use - as the front unzips and a panel in the back unzips to reveal the conection and basic mixer -as can plug in mic and something into the line in at the same time...

As for my main PA i have various depending on size of venue and what the function is etc....

2x Lem Powered T5sa Subs

4x HK LR118 18" Passive subs
4x HK LR112 12" Tops
2x OHM EP2400 Amps

As for cost i don't know as i paid less that what i should through good deals but can't fault any of the PA i have and can make a PA Setup for almost any situation or size of room...

Personally - for cheap PA, pick yourself out a entire Behringer package, amazing value and very efficent/high volume for the wattage they are. (200w system I used easily filled a room to fit 200 people, and I was using it to run the entire band through a PA, very loudly)

Really?, i thought you needed something different for djing, ive got exactly the same 1 as this except 250gb, and i bought mine for the same reasons, aluminium and a cooling fan, i need to add loads of songs to mine currently, but ive got all them sunfly on it, cheers.:)

P.s i bought the case before xmas, very handy to protect it.
