Just looking into a new rig at the moment.

1) Needs to look good
2) Needs to be quick to set up
3) need to take large weights (pilot moving heads, scanners etc)

Pictures etc would be cool! (or links)

Do you want an all in one stand? Separate tripods and truss? T-bars? Do you want wind up stands?

But i am just browisng different options at the moment to make it look smarter and so the rig can take more weight. - so really if people could point me at different types that would be great

I use the Ultimax winch and wheels stand, which are fairly expensive, retailing around the £500 mark!

The stand and double bar takes about 5-10 minutes to out together and the bar holds 80Kg.

You can get the stand without the wheels and winch cheaper though.

I paid £150 ish for the Ultimax stand with single overhead bar ("table" unit 1.7m long) just before christmas. Haven't used the bar bit as of yet, but will be testing it out at a small 15 YO birthday party tomorrow.

The single bar hold 40Kg.

We recently bought two Powerdrive Midihoists and 2x3mtr sections of Trilite 200 truss, that can take circa 170kg evenly distributed. Highly recommended.

male perspective = consideration of factors such as telescopic height adjustment, automatic safety brake binch, safety/rotation collar, etc













female perspective = analysis of performance on an "inch by inch" basis

Watch it smarty-pants! :ner: You know exactly what I mean..... I just would have expected trilite to take a much heavier load than the Ultimax double bar :p

I've used them ona few ocassions and found them to be excellent, but way too heavy and very unweildy (sp)
